SAMUEL ADDS SOME SHINE TO CALGARY SHELTER

Inn from the Cold has been providing shelter, sanctuary and support for Calgary’s most vulnerable families since 1997.  As their twentieth anniversary approached, the organization embarked on a large scale renovation to spruce up some of the shelter’s well-used spaces.  When it came to flooring, our man Samuel put up his hand and volunteered to take on the job.

Evoke Luxury Vinyl 'Samuel' installed at Calgary shelter.

As you can see, he’s right at home, working hard and looking good.  Keep up the fine work, Samuel!  Special thanks to our friends at Smith Brothers Flooring in Calgary for their support on the project - and congratulations to all at Inn from the Cold on twenty years of amazing service to your community.  To learn more about this great organization, visit innfromthecold.org.

ADRIAN, EDITH AND VICTORIA HIRED ON AT NEW COMPANY HQ

After twenty years building custom homes for clients in the Coeur d’Alene area, Aspen Homes decided it was high time for a new home for themselves.  The spacious new HQ is situated in the popular Riverstone district of the city overlooking the Spokane River, and the interior spaces are every bit as beautiful as the vistas outside. Aspen Homes asked local Evoke dealer Lake Forest Floors to put some of their best looking laminates to work. That’s Edith getting down to business in the boardroom, above, Adrian looking good in the lounge, and Victoria vamping it up by the vanity.

Nice work if you can get it!  For more on Aspen Homes visit aspenhomes.com.  For more photos, visit rlmiller.com/aspen-homes.

SILAS STEPS IN TO SPICE UP SPOKANE BISTRO

Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar just completed a major makeover of their flagship River Park Square location in Spokane and as you can see the results are as tasty as a huckleberry lemon drop martini.  Making himself right at home among the mixers and shakers is our boy Silas, laid back and settled in for a good long visit.

Credit for the dynamic design goes to Paint Room Studios and Vandervert Construction.  Evoke dealer Ibex Flooring provided and installed the luxury vinyl floor.  For more on Twigs Bistro visit twigsbistro.com

Talk about a Floating Floor

It’s often said of Evoke that they’ll gladly go where other floors fear to tread, but this is taking it to a whole new level.  Kim recently took up residence aboard this luxury yacht and is now enjoying a life on the rolling main.  Or at least, on the lakes of Eastern Canada.  Being Luxury Vinyl, she’s not afraid of a little water and is always up for a little adventure, so the cruising life is a perfect fit. Bon voyage!

Hotel with a Difference

A small group of our closest friends were among the guests of honor recently at the opening of a very cool new hotel called the Skwachàys Lodge.  It’s a new boutique hotel in downtown Vancouver that aims to provide a uniquely aboriginal experience to visitors and guests.

The hotel itself is a masterpiece of imaginative remodeling.  It occupies a renovated heritage building nestled in a downtown nook between the historic districts of Gastown and Chinatown. The stately Victorian façade has been newly crowned with a traditional west coast longhouse and dressed up with an ultra-modern interactive art installation at street level.

Inside is a treasure house of aboriginal arts and culture.  Six top-drawer design firms donated their services and worked with a group of with seven aboriginal artists/designers to create eighteen unique rooms, each enhanced with original carvings, blankets and paintings.  The lodge also features spacious gallery areas displaying aboriginal art and traditional gathering places like a sweat lodge and smudge room.

It’s a great example of creative and design communities coming together to realize a dream and we’re delighted and proud that so many of our team were able to help make the project a reality.  We know that Spencer, Stuart, Sharon and the rest of the gang will treat Skwachays guests with perfect hospitality
